Moscow. August 23. INTERFAX.RU – An experimental batch of new T-14 “Armata” tanks has been shipped for the RF Ministry of Defense, Rostec officials said.
“Among the new models, we have shipped to the troops the latest modernized T-90M Proryv tanks, an experimental industrial batch of T-14 Armata tanks,” said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec, at a plenary session at the Army-2021 forum. …
The Russian army will receive a batch of 20 T-14 Armata tanks this year, Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko said on August 10.
He then announced that the troops would also receive 65 new T-90M Proryv tanks. This is the latest modification of the T-90 main Russian battle tank.
In August 2018, Krivoruchko announced plans for serial deliveries by the end of 2021 of armored vehicles on the Armata heavy tracked platform: 132 vehicles – T-14 tanks and T-15 infantry fighting vehicles.
Earlier, Yuri Borisov, when he was Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation (now Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation), reported that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has a contract for the supply of two battalions of T-14 tanks and a battalion of BMP T-15 for military tests.
The T-14 is considered the only third post-war generation tank in the world. According to military experts, “Armata” is a new word in tank building and has no analogues in the world. This is a fundamentally new and completely Russian development. The T-14 tower is uninhabited. For the first time, the crew was placed in an armored capsule, separated from the ammunition load.
Equipment on the Armata platform is being tested and is participating in the Victory parades in Moscow.
The press service of the Uralvagonzavod concern previously told Interfax that the T-14 Armata tank was tested in unmanned mode, but this combat vehicle was created for the crew.
