Seismologists have recorded a 6.1 magnitude earthquake off the coast of the American state of Alaska. It is reported by the US Geological Survey.

The epicenter of tremors was located 235 km southwest of the city of Adak.

The focus was located at a depth of 17.1 km.

Earlier, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 occurred in the east of Japan.
