A mother who gave birth to two children from different mothers and then had to give them up, achieved payment from the clinic that mixed up the embryos.

In 2018, an Asian-American couple from Flushing, New York reportedly went to California and paid $100,000 for fertility treatment. As a result, the woman managed to get pregnant. Doctors were pleased with the news that the couple would have twin girls.
However, when she gave birth, she was shocked: Caucasian boys were born, and not girls with Asian features. Subsequent investigations revealed that the clinic implanted two male embryos from two different Caucasian families, according to the lawsuit they filed.
A few weeks later, the couple was forced to give up the boys and give them to their genetic parents. The lawsuit said they suffered “permanent emotional trauma from which they will not recover.”
One of the couples, Anni Manukyan and her husband Ashot, also filed a lawsuit against the clinic. Manukyan and the other boy's genetic mother were at the clinic on the same day in August 2018 when their embryos were implanted. Another twist: Manukyan mistakenly implanted the embryo of the fourth couple, which led to an unsuccessful pregnancy.
The Manukyans learned that they had become parents only when in March 2019 they received a call from the clinic and asked them to come and take a DNA test.
Manoukian later described the outpouring of emotions when she and her husband picked up their little boy.
“We were crying hysterically, all four of us,” she later told the media. “They said, 'We're so sorry, we're so sorry.'”
The Manukians sought damages to cover emotional loss and the $100,000 they spent on treatment and travel. They agreed in December 2019 for an undisclosed amount. Another couple also received compensation.
Manukyan said that she prayed every day for the woman, who gave birth to a son.
“She carried my baby for nine months, fed him, looked after him, changed his diapers. Everything could have ended differently,” she later said. “I pray for her every day, she was a victim just like me. She is a wonderful woman. She raised my child inside her and after he was born.”
Recall that a 62-year-old widow is going to conceive a child from her late husband. It became known how this is possible.
