In Slovakia, in the second round of the presidential electionwon opponent of military aid to Ukraine Peter Pellegrini, gaining 53.12% of the votes.

Former Slovak Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok also entered the second round of elections along with Pellegrini, gaining 42.51% of the votes.
Pellegrini’s attitude towards Ukraine
The new president of Slovakia shares the position of the Slovak government on standardizing relations with Russia, which changed dramatically after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In his opinion, most sanctions against Moscow are ineffective and have a negative impact on the residents of Slovakia.
In addition, he does not exclude a unified approach of the European Union to the Russian Federation regarding the situation in Ukraine.
Orban congratulated Pellegrini
Meanwhile, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has already managed to congratulate Pellegrini on his victory in the presidential elections in Slovakia on Saturday.
“A great victory for the people of Slovakia and a great victory for fans of peace throughout Europe!”, wrote Viktor Orban.
Recall that the Slovak opposition is sounding the alarm due to the growth of pro-Russian sentiment on the eve of the presidential elections.
