NYPD, together with specialists from the Department of Health, have launched investigations against several medical clinics.
– We believe that the doctors, having received the vaccine, which, in the first place, was sent to vaccinate doctors working with coronavirus patients and the elderly from nursing homes, was not distributed properly. As a result, very different people received the vaccine, – said the New York City Health Commissioner, Dr. Howard Zucker.
In the United States, as in most countries in the world, healthcare workers and people over 60 are the first to vaccinate. The hospitals claim that they follow all these rules.
But investigators have a different opinion and warn that anyone who participated in illegal schemes will be prosecuted.
About 90,000 New Yorkers received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine this week. The first were workers in the emergency and intensive care departments, as well as staff in the upper respiratory tract. Then citizens and nursing home staff were vaccinated. The third wave included ambulance workers and all other medical workers, as well as forensic experts.
