Americans will be granted “voter leave” to vote in elections

by alex

Nearly 900 companies in the U.S. have agreed to provide paid voting time for their employees in the 2020 presidential election. This became known to TMZ.

Voter turnout is key to the upcoming US presidential election. So, since 2018, ElectionDay.org has been promoting an initiative to urge companies to give employees paid voting time. It is noted that such a decision will allow Americans not to make a choice between their constitutional rights and salary.

This idea has already been supported by 890 companies and institutions. They agreed to make “voter leave” part of their domestic policy. It is noted that only 150 organizations took such a step two years ago.

Supporters of the idea included Airbnb, T-Mobile, Shake Shack, Ford, Sony, Twitter and many others. It is clarified that in different organizations the vacation time varies: some companies give employees a whole day, while others allocate a three- or four-hour break.

ElectionDay.org, operated by Vote.org, says that thanks to their efforts, approximately 1 million people will be able to vote this year.

General Election Day will be held in the United States on November 3. Citizens will elect a president and vice president, and 35 senators, the entire House of Representatives, 13 governors and local government representatives will be elected.
