The head of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Rochelle Walensky advised Americans to wear a double face mask to protect against coronavirus. Her words are broadcast by Fox23 TV channel.
According to Walenski, the mask is protected by a wire for the nose, tying straps on the ears, as well as a cloth mask over a medical or disposable mask. According to a study by an American regulator, the double mask was able to trap 92.5 percent of the particles that were released when simulating a cough. At the same time, the medical mask alone blocked only about 42 percent of the particles.
In addition, a double mask around coughing people without a mask protects 83 percent, while a single mask only copes with 66 percent of particles, the study said.
