Donald Trump

More than half of Americans (56 percent) supported the impeachment declaration of former US President Donald Trump. This is stated in a study by Monmouth University, RIA Novosti reports.

When asked whether Trump should be charged with incitement to rebellion, 52 percent of those polled said yes. At the same time, 57 percent agreed with the idea of banning him from holding government posts in the future.

Earlier, a poll showed that most US citizens do not believe that America has become “great again” after the presidency of Donald Trump. 7 percent of respondents said Trump has failed to live up to his main campaign slogan – “Make America Great Again” over the past four years. At the same time, only 39 percent of those surveyed said that he managed to achieve this goal. In addition, 46 percent of respondents named Trump as one of the worst U.S. presidents in history, and 21 percent as one of the best.

On January 14, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to impeach Trump in the wake of the recent riots in Washington. The last vote was the second attempt to remove Trump from office.

Democrats motivate the decision to impeach Trump, among other things, by the fact that after the process is over, he will not be able to run for president. This is the first time the US has attempted to remove a state leader from office after the end of his presidential term. It was reported that the process of impeachment of former US President Donald Trump in the US Senate will begin on February 8.
