A significant number of supporters of the US Democratic and Republican parties have refused to support US President Joe Biden and his predecessor Donald Trump, saying they would like to see new candidates during the next 2024 presidential election. This is stated in a survey by SSRS, conducted at the request of CNN.

According to the poll, 51 percent of Americans who vote for Democrats or are inclined to vote for them would like to see a new candidate from the party nominated not by Biden. Among those respondents, 35 percent said they have doubts about Biden's ability to defeat the Republican nominee, and 19 percent of those polled are concerned about his age, as Biden will be 82 in 2024.

Only 45 percent of those polled supported the Democrat's participation in the elections. It is noted that people over 45 years of age, as well as voters who did not have a higher education (51 percent), supported the re-nomination of Biden.

Speaking of Republicans, the votes between supporters and opponents of Trump's nomination in 2024 were divided almost equally: 50 percent of poll participants were in favor of his candidacy, 49 percent believe that another politician should go to the polls from the party.

Basically, the former US president enjoys the support of white Americans without higher education (60 percent), as well as those Americans who consider Biden's victory in 2020 illegal (64 percent).

It was previously reported that almost 60 percent of Americans were dissatisfied with the quality of Joe Biden's work as President of the United States, while in December 2021 this figure was 51 percent.
