About a third of the respondents to the survey of the American newspaper The New York Times could not correctly determine the location of Ukraine on the map of Eastern Europe. TASS reports.
In total, 177 thousand people took part in the survey. Readers were asked to answer on the borders of which country Russia is reportedly accumulating its armed forces, in connection with which the situation in Europe has seriously worsened. An unsigned map was attached to the question. In addition to Ukraine, respondents could indicate areas of the map where Belarus, Poland and Georgia are located. As a result, almost 56 thousand participants could not find Ukraine on the map.
In 2019, the team of the American show Jimmy Kimmel Live (“Jimmy Kimmel on the air”) conducted a survey among Americans, asking them to find India on a map. One of the survey participants instead of India pointed to Greenland, another to Japan, and the third to the Arabian Peninsula. Another passer-by, who became the hero of the issue, pointed to India, but said that the American state of Texas was there. Then he pointed to Africa and said it was South America.
