The American company General Atomics has developed the control of the MQ-1C Gray Eagle ER strike drone using a tablet. The system has already been tested.
During the tests, the military indicated targets for reconnaissance on the tablet. After that, the drone automatically changed the flight route to fulfill the order.
According to the idea, the control system via the tablet should also display the video from the drone on the screen of the device in real time. Also, the military will be able to request fire support from the air and the adjustment of artillery fire.
The tablet runs Android. It is noted that the US military will be able to directly partially control drones through it without the need to contact operators. This will allow you to act more quickly. Tests of the MQ-1C Gray Eagle ER system — the tablet were deemed successful.
