American won nearly $ 700 million in the lottery
A US resident won $ 699.8 million in the Powerball lottery. This prize became the seventh largest in the history of the country, AP reports.
It is noted that the amount of the jackpot has grown to almost 700 million thanks to the fact that the last 40 drawings in the lottery have not been big winners.
The winning ticket was sold in the California city of Morro Bay. According to the rules of the lottery, the winner will be able to receive the prize in parts over 29 years or 496 million at a time. Moreover, in both cases, the winner will have to pay taxes.
In addition, five million dollar winning tickets were sold the day before. Two winners live in Massachusetts, and one each in Florida, Virginia and Arizona.
The Powerball lottery is held in 45 states of America, as well as Washington, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
Earlier it was reported that American Susan Fitton from Boca Raton, Florida, won the lottery twice a day.
