American political scientist David Hendrickson said that US intelligence invented a war in Ukraine. He expressed his opinion in an article for the National Interest portal.
“Putin, they say, threatens every day with a war aimed at taking over Ukraine. No, it’s the US and its media sycophants talking about what Putin says and does,” the political scientist wrote.
According to Hendrickson, Washington fanned the story of an alleged Russian attack on Ukraine in order to stop the certification of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline – this brought a lot of profit to those interested in selling liquefied natural gas (LNG).
In addition, the political scientist noted that the transfer of weapons to Kiev was beneficial to the US military-industrial complex, and the anti-Russian coalition received congressional consent to completely cut off contacts with the Kremlin.
On February 11, the US Secretary of State said that Russia could launch an invasion of Ukraine at any time, including during the Beijing Olympics. On the eve of the date of Russia's “invasion” of Ukraine, US President Joe Biden named February 16.
