Police from the American state of Texas arrived on a call from residents of one of the private houses: people were scared to find a swimming crocodile in their pool.
The animal made its way through the barriers of the site and splashed with pleasure in the artificial reservoir.
Since the police did not have the authority to simply capture the crocodile and return it to natural conditions, the law enforcement officers decided to use a sense of humor as well. They accused the reptile of “violating public order, expressed in nude swimming in a private pool, contrary to the demands of its owners,” and at the same time in “resisting the police.”
The letter of the law was respected, the crocodile was caught, after which it was taken out of town and released into one of the reservoirs in which his brothers live, Foxnews reports.
The owners of the house were immensely grateful to the law enforcement officers for their promptness and efficient work. The townspeople, who learned about this news, laughed heartily at the cheerful policemen. But members of a number of environmental organizations raised a fuss: they accused the participants of the incident that perhaps not everything went so smoothly for the troublemaker. They accused the police that only specially trained specialists should have caught the crocodile, otherwise the animal could experience severe stress. The “greens” were also upset because the police took the crocodile to no one knows where, and did not find a specific swamp, from which it crawled away. Such relocation, according to animal rights activists, threatens the crocodile with the loss of family ties.
