Ferlinghetti has published over 30 books of poetry during his long career. He is considered one of the brightest representatives of the “beatnik” generation – American authors who wrote their works from 1940 to 1950. Ferlinghetti was friends with such classics of American literature as Allen Ginsberg, Gregory Corso and Michael McClure.
