The fairness of the assessments of Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin in ice dancing at the Russian Championship in St. Petersburg raises questions. Doubts on Twitter were expressed by American journalist Jackie Wong.
“Seriously though, I still can't get away from the fact that Davis and Smolkin are silver medalists of the Russian championship. Objectively, this is wrong, ”the reporter doubted. At the same time, he did not specify what exactly caused his dissatisfaction: the overestimation or underestimation of the duo's ratings.
Davis, who is the daughter of the honored coach of Russia Eteri Tutberidze, together with Smolkin scored 207.70 points in total and won silver. Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin won the competition with a score of 223.37 points.
The bronze medals were won by Elizaveta Khudaiberdieva and Yegor Bazin. They scored 195.75 points on the sum of the two programs.
