The commander of space operations of the United States Space Force, General John Raymond, predicted the outcome of a possible war in space. TASS reports his words.
The general drew attention to the fact that outer space is becoming a sphere of military operations. Therefore, the main task of the Space Forces is to contain the emerging conflict, he noted. “I don’t think anyone will win this war,” added Raymond.
At the same time, the American military called Russia a rival of the United States in space and said that it was so “from the very beginning.” At the same time, he recalled that at the height of the Cold War, the parties cooperated in the field of civil space.
Last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about a possible war in space. According to him, the United States views space as a space for war and openly plans military operations there. In turn, this requires strengthening the orbital constellation of Russian satellites.
