American doctors criticized the administration of US President Joe Biden for passively fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. This is reported by Axios.

Despite reports that the White House plans to purchase 500 million coronavirus tests for free distribution to American citizens, many experts rebuked the authorities for the delay.

“This is certainly great, but it would have been better if we had thought about it a month ago,” commented Megan Rennie, an ambulance doctor and dean of the Brown University School of Public Health, on the government’s measures.

According to health workers, the volume of purchased tests is also insufficient. They pointed out that with the current shortage of individual testing facilities, the effectiveness of their use is diminishing, given that there are 330 million people in the United States.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden said that the new omicron strain had become dominant in the United States. He urged citizens of the country to get vaccinated, saying that without vaccination there is a risk of ending up in a hospital or even dying due to COVID-19.
