“The clock is ticking to get the bipartisan national security bill across the finish line before we leave town on March 22,” said House Minority Leader Gakim Jeffries.
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is calling for consideration of this bill in the coming days. In turn, Speaker Johnson said that the priority for the House is to approve budget legislation.
“We are moving through the normal appropriations process – due to be completed by Friday – after which the Speaker has said he is ready to bring the supplemental funding bill to the floor for a vote,” said House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Mike McCaul.
Recall that The Hill, citing Republican senators, reported that Speaker Mike Johnson promised to unblock aid to Ukraine, but with changes. According to him, the project to support Ukraine will differ from that adopted by the Senate.
By the way, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the American Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson is responsible for the failure of aid to Ukraine. The politician emphasized that assistance to Ukraine is not an internal US issue.
