American billionaire, founder of SpaceX Elon Musk, head of Blue Origin Jeff Bezos and founder of Virgin Galactic Richard Branson did not respond to the invitation from Roscosmos, TASS reports.
The head of the Russian state corporation Dmitry Rogozin invited them to attend the launch of the “kinetic rocket” from the Baikonur cosmodrome. According to Roskosmos, no response was received from Musk, Bezos and Branson. The launch of the Soyuz MS-19 will take place on October 5 without their participation.
The spacecraft will deliver Russian actress Yulia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko, as well as cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, to the International Space Station.
Peresild and Shipenko will shoot the first feature film in space. On October 17, they will return to Earth on the Soyuz MS-18 spacecraft together with cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky.
The actress and director will have three meals a day at the ISS, as well as a light snack. They will take food from the standard diet of the astronauts, and no individual meals are provided for them. Peresild and Shipenko have already received training in nutritional management – how to warm rations and take them correctly.
The film will be called “The Challenge.” The station wants to shoot only part of the scenes. Filming should take place in the laboratory module “Science”, which previously successfully joined the ISS.
