“Amendments exist only on paper”: military expert said that Russia has nothing to suppress riots against mobilization

The military expert believes that the tightening dissatisfied mood of Russians against the backdrop of the announcement of partial mobilization in the Russian Federation is inevitable.

New amendments on punishment for riots and desertion in Russia will not help to make it impossible to riot against the mobilization announced Putin.

This TSN.ua was told by military expert Alexander Kovalenko.

“Another repressive method is to introduce amendments to punish riots and desertion. But anyway, one way or another, these riots will appear sooner or later,” he said.

The expert compared the current situation with the events of the Russian-Chechen wars.

“When the events of the First Chechen War and the Second took place, there were a large number of dissatisfied with the way Russian troops were provided during this war, how their commanders used them. There were a large number of scandals of this level. It was a shame for the new Russian army. The same will happen. Now, moreover, now it will happen with a completely different intensity, because this partial mobilization does not solve the issues that a general mobilization could solve, but it creates problems that a general mobilization can create,” says Kovalenko.

He added that now Russia does not have an effective element to suppress the resistance of the population.

“The repressive element, in order to suppress riots and direct resistance in Russia, needs a resource that must act in the direction of suppression these elements, and today it actually does not exist. Even the National Guard is now used in hostilities. What can we talk about here, if they cannot fully control the situation in the country in order to suppress any socio-political chaos in the country. The amendments exist only on paper,” he said.

Recall, today, September 21, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization in Russia.

Later Russians began to take part in the first protests against the mobilization.
