Ukraine deeply values US unity and support.
The state of Iowa recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people. Now November has been proclaimed the month of remembrance of the Holodomor-genocide in Ukraine.
This was announced by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova.
“We are sincerely grateful to the Governor of Iowa, Kim Reynolds, for her solidarity with Ukraine. Thanks to the Consul General of Ukraine in Chicago, Sergei Koledov, and the Ukrainian community for their active work in honoring the memory of the victims of the Holodomor,” she noted.
This is the 33rd state in the country to make the decision.
Earlier, Wyoming announced the recognition of the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
