Robert O'Brien
National Security Advisor to US President Donald Trump Robert O'Brien was forced to interrupt his trip to Europe due to alleged Russian cyber attacks. Bloomberg reports this with reference to the representative of the US National Security Council (SNB)
According to a statement from the department, O'Brien is returning to the United States in order to hold a meeting of the NSS, as well as to convene a high-level interagency meeting.
The source of the American publication notes that the meeting will consider incidents related to cyberattacks on the Department of State, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Treasury, as well as the US Department of Commerce.
Earlier Reuters reported that Russian hackers attacked the US Department of Homeland Security. According to the agency's interlocutor, the Russians gained access to internal communications in the American department. The attack was part of a campaign that also compromised the systems of the US Treasury Department and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
The Moscow Embassy in Washington called the attempts to accuse Russia of hacker attacks groundless and stated that such attacks in the information space contradict the principles of the country's foreign policy, its national interests and understanding of how relations between states are built.
