Ukrainian nuclear power plants and the Kiev hydroelectric power station are under heavy guard of the National Guard of Ukraine.
Tightened security measures have been established in connection with possible provocations and the difficult geopolitical situation.
So, the protection of the Kiev hydroelectric power station was taken by military personnel from the National Guard of the brigade named after. Hetman Petro Doroshenko together with the employees of the National Police.
It is noted that the main task of law enforcement officers is to ensure reliable protection of the facility, as well as to prevent the penetration of enemy sabotage groups in order to carry out provocations to destabilize the situation both in the region and in the state.
It is noted that among the National Guardsmen guarding the Kiev hydroelectric power station, there are fighters who served in the area of the JFO and have combat experience .
“The soldiers are motivated and ready, together with the police, to ensure reliable protection and uninterrupted operation of the hydroelectric power station,” said Colonel Oleg Duda, deputy head of the Northern Kiev TU from the service.
During the service, law enforcement officers check the documents of persons and vehicles , and also patrol the area adjacent to the hydroelectric power station.

At the same time, at all Ukrainian nuclear power plants, the security staff was doubled .
– In addition, the military units guarded by the nuclear power plant, and this is the National Guard of Ukraine, received additional weapons . We are taking all other necessary actions provided for such a situation,” said the head of Energoatom Petr Kotin .
According to him, Energoatom and the nuclear power plants themselves are in close contact with the Ministry of Internal Affairs to resolve the necessary issues related to ensuring enhanced protection of critical infrastructure facilities.
It is added that the Centralized Spent Nuclear Fuel Storage Facility is also under increased security.
Petr Kotin added that the cyber defense of nuclear power plants and other facilities is now being strengthened .
He added that nuclear power plants are equipped with everything necessary in case of a military threat , in particular, diesel generators with the appropriate fuel reserves.
