All residents of a nursing home in Spain contracted the coronavirus shortly after receiving the first dose from Pfizer, which is vaccinated in the country. Seven of them have died, El Periodico reports.
The infection was found in all 78 retirees living in a nursing home in the city of Lagartera in Toledo. On January 13, they all received a shot of Pfizer's vaccine, and then, six days later, many of them began to show the first symptoms of SARS-CoV-2, but they attributed this to a side effect of the vaccine.
A patient in Switzerland who received the Pfizer vaccine died in late December. Doctors indicated that he was 91 years old and suffered from serious illnesses in addition to COVID-19.
Earlier it was reported that a nurse in the United States contracted the coronavirus despite being vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. Matthew W., 45, who works as an emergency room nurse in the emergency departments of two California hospitals, was vaccinated against the coronavirus on December 18. However, on December 24, he began to experience chills, aches and weakness. Two days after the onset of symptoms, Matthew decided to get tested for coronavirus – his test was positive.
