He made this statement on Friday, June 20, speaking during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. This was reported by Channel 24 , citing Russian media.
What Putin said
Vladimir Putin called the situation in Ukraine a tragedy, which allegedly occurs because of the actions of the West. In addition, according to him, Russia owns everything where the foot of a Russian soldier steps. He once again repeated the narrative of “one people”.
The Russian and Ukrainian peoples are one people. In this sense, all of Ukraine is ours, he said.
By the way, Vladimir Putin previously stated that he was ready to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, but would not sign anything with him. The dictator once again stated that the Ukrainian president was allegedly illegitimate.
He recently denied that Russia had destroyed residential areas in Kyiv, saying that the strike had allegedly targeted military factories. He also said that Russia would not allow the existence of armed forces on Ukrainian territory that “threaten” Russia.
