The first jailbreak has been released for the iPhone 12 series smartphones. It is reported by the WccfTech edition.
Smartphone jailbreak software has been released by a team of enthusiasts Unc0ver. The main difference between this jailbreak and the previous ones is the ability to install it on all Apple smartphones of recent years, from iPhone 6s to iPhone 12. The Unc0ver 6.0 jailbreak is adapted to work with the Apple operating system – up to iOS 14.3. However, support for the current version of iOS is not guaranteed.
According to journalists, the system hacking software is based on the cicuta_verosa exploit, which has been used for artisanal iOS modifications in the past. The current jailbreak has support for introducing settings via Substitute and managing packages using Cydia.
The creators of the software noted that it is possible to install the jailbreak if the user has an iPhone 6s or later and has not yet upgraded to the iOS 14.4 update. It is impossible to rollback from the specified system – this is due to the fact that Apple has stopped signing the OS.
In November 2020, checkra1n project enthusiasts released a jailbreak focused on the current iOS 14. It is noted that the modified software was released just a week after the release of the public version of the operating system for the iPhone.
