Hong Kong authorities have ordered all residents to be tested for coronavirus amid a rise in the number of infections. It is reported by The Standard.

According to the publication, it is planned to test groups of up to a million people daily. Every citizen will have to take three tests for COVID-19 within three weeks. Citizens who fail to comply with the testing order will be fined ten thousand Hong Kong dollars (about 97 thousand rubles).

At the same time, due to insufficient infrastructure for testing in Hong Kong, a number of tests are planned to be sent for processing to Shenzhen. The Standard writes that due to the severe outbreak of the virus in Hong Kong, there is not enough time to build additional temporary laboratories.

Earlier, British professor Tim Spector from the ZOE Covid Symptom Study organization said that the omicron strain of coronavirus is able to settle in the intestines, and not in the nose. The expert described seven hidden symptoms of the COVID-19 omicron strain and named disorders of the gastrointestinal tract among them.
