Aliyev told when Azerbaijan will cease fire in Karabakh
Azerbaijan is ready to cease fire in Karabakh if Armenia does it. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said this in an interview with Le Figaro.
He noted that he had already spoken about the terms of the ceasefire. Armenia “must recognize the accepted principles of the conflict settlement.”
The politician accused Nikol Pashinyan, prime minister of Armenia, of destroying the peace process with “provocations and statements.”
“If the Armenians do not cease fire, we will continue to liberate our lands,” Aliyev said.
According to him, Turkey is not participating in hostilities.
Earlier, Pashinyan said that due to the participation of Syrian militants in the fighting in Karabakh, the Russian Federation has the right to conduct an anti-terrorist operation in this region. According to Ankara, the military was not sent, but they are ready to leave for Karabakh if Baku has such a need.
The aggravation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh occurred at the end of September. The parties accuse each other of provocations. After a meeting in Moscow, Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed on a ceasefire in the region from October 10. The shelling did not stop.
A week later, Baku and Yerevan agreed to establish a humanitarian truce in the region, but it was soon disrupted.
