On December 7, 15-year-old athlete Aleksey Sereda won a silver medal at the World Junior Diving Championships.
Ukrainian with 491.75 points showed the second result in jumping from a three-meter springboard in age group B.
The first step on December 7 went to Italian Matteo Santoro.
Another Ukrainian Vladislav Klimko took sixth place.
< p>After the awarding ceremony, Aleksey Sereda admitted: he thought that he might be among the top three winners, but he is sure that he needs to further improve his skills in ski jumping.
– Getting on the springboard and winning is not easy. It seems to me that I have not yet deserved it, so I will work so that in the future, perhaps, to win, ”he said.
However, the athlete does not plan to replace the platform with a springboard:
“The tower is my main shell, so I will never give it up,” the Ukrainian assured.
Alexey Sereda's silver is his second award in two days. The day before he had no equal in jumping from a 10-meter platform.
The Junior World Diving Championship in Kiev will last until December 9.
The piggy bank of the Ukrainian national team, except for Alexei's gold and silver Sereda, Ksenia Bailo (first and third places) has already been replenished.
Daniil Konovalov also received a gold medal, and together with Bogdan Chizhovsky they climbed to the second step of the podium.
