Russian oppositionist Alexey Navalny, served his sentence in a colony, died.
The reasons are still being established, according to the Federal Penitentiary Service, TASS reports.
As the service said, he allegedly became ill during a walk and lost consciousness. The doctors couldn't help him.
Rossmedia writes that Navalny’s blood clot has broken.
Who is Alexei Navalny
Alexey Navalny is a Russian oppositionist. He became known as an organizer of demonstrations against corruption in Russia, as well as against President Vladimir Putin and his government.
Alexey Navalny was arrested in January 2021. He then returned to Russia from Germany, where he was undergoing treatment in connection with an attempt to poison him. A month later he was convicted of alleged financial crimes. He was sentenced to nine years in a maximum security colony.
Two months later he was accused of creating an extremist organization, and then the list of charges was expanded for propaganda of terrorism and rehabilitation of Nazism.
