Raducanu
That comes as a surprise! Emma Raducanu broke up with her coach just two weeks after her greatest career success.
The only 18-year-old Brit made history in Flushing Meadows, becoming the first qualifier of the Open era to win the last Grand Slam tournament of the year. Raducanu not only took home a check for 2.5 million euros, but also climbed from 200th place in the world rankings to 22nd place.
On Friday, however, the tennis star caused a stir. As the “Daily Mail” reports, Raducanu has separated from her successful coach Andrew Richardson. And although it led the 18-year-old to an absolute great moment, the collaboration only began after Wimbledon.
But the reason for the separation lies precisely in the British woman's greatest success. In the future, Raducanu would like to work with an experienced trainer who puts her at the forefront of tennis.
“It's difficult to have such a conversation, but I think it's exactly what I need for me,” Raducanu told the Telegraph. “I had the feeling that I really need someone who has already been through this and can accompany me on my way,” added the sensational winner from New York.
Darren Cahill, who ended his collaboration with Simona Halep just two days ago, was named as a candidate.
