After Trump's words, Medvedev “backed off” on nuclear weapons for Iran

Following the loud statement by US President Donald Trump about the possible transfer of nuclear weapons by the Russian Federation to Iran, Dmitry Medvedev stated that Russia has no such intentions.

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that Moscow does not plan to transfer nuclear weapons to Iran. This was his response to the words of US President Donald Trump, who sharply criticized his previous hints.

The words of the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council are quoted by Russian media.

“Russia does not intend to supply nuclear weapons to Iran. Russia does not intend to supply nuclear weapons to Iran, because, unlike Israel, we are parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons,” Dmitry Medvedev responded.

At the same time, he stressed: “I condemn the US strike on Iran – it did not achieve its goals.”

Earlier, Trump responded to Medvedev’s statement with indignation in his social media post:

“I heard former President Medvedev of Russia casually throw out the “Y” word (nuclear!) and say that he and other countries are going to give Iran nuclear warheads? Did he really say that, or did I just imagine it?.. The “Y” word should not be used so casually.”

We also recall that Iran fired 6 missiles at the American Al-Udeid base located in Qatar.
