Patrick Moster was suspended until the end of the year because of the racist derailment at the Olympic time trial.
The world cycling association UCI has confirmed the suspension for Germany's sports director Patrick Moster after his racist derailment. As the UCI announced on Friday, Moster will be suspended until the end of the year after admitting his wrongdoing. The functionary had previously publicly apologized for several times.
After Moster racially insulted two African participants as “camel drivers” at the Tokyo Olympics, the 54-year-old was initially only temporarily banned. After his early return from Tokyo, Moster received a warning from the Association of German Cyclists and was released from his duties “until further notice”.
