Russia launched a massive drone and missile attack on Ukraine after Putin spoke to US President Donald Trump, with the dictator once again demonstrating that he has no interest in ending the war.
Political scientist and head of the Center for Analysis and Strategies Igor Chalenko told Channel 24 about this. According to him, Putin is not going to make any steps towards him, as Trump expects. He perceives the West's actions as weakness.
Trump shows himself weak
As Chalenko noted, only Ukraine is currently demonstrating force. The Defense Forces continue to carry out pinpoint strikes on the enemy's military facilities. At the same time, the United States is acting extremely weakly and is even allegedly going to stop military aid to our country.
Some of our partners need to change their point of view and not “follow the lead” of the Russian dictator. Putin is now using traditional tactics – to weaken the opponent in order to apply even more pressure. He demonstrated this with the current large-scale attack on Kyiv, – Chalenko said.
I would like the United States to stop “dancing” in front of Russia and not delay either military aid or the process of selling weapons to our country.
Trump is showing himself as weak. Putin is using this. The United States can show strength by continuing to support our state, Chalenko noted.
We will add that President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the situation with the suspension of American support. Ukraine expects continued military assistance, because Europe cannot provide some types of weapons. In particular, we are talking about missiles for the Patriot air defense system, which can shoot down ballistics.
