Formula 1 mourns Prince Philip
In consideration of the funeral service for Prince Philip, Formula 1 is changing the start time for qualifying for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola. As the premier class of motorsport announced on Tuesday, the starting place hunt on Saturday at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari will be brought forward by one hour from originally 3 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Accordingly, the final training will also be brought forward from 12.00 p.m. to 11.00 a.m. in order to maintain the two-hour break between these units. There will be a minute's silence for Prince Philip before qualifying. In addition, both training sessions on Friday will be moved forward by half an hour each. The kick-off session now starts at 11 a.m., the second session at 2.30 p.m.
Queen Elizabeth II's husband, Prince Philip, had died last week. State mourning officially applies in Great Britain until the funeral service next Saturday.
