Christian Eriksen
Christian Eriksen is back at Inter Milan. After his cardiac arrest at the European Championships in June, he reported fit.
The Danish international Christian Eriksen paid his Inter Milan team a visit for the first time after his collapse at the European Championship.
The midfielder was on the training ground north of Milan and greeted the team and coaching staff, as Inter announced on Wednesday. The 29-year-old is in the best physical and mental condition. He was following the recovery program that the Danish doctors in Copenhagen had given him on the way.
According to Inter Milan, the Danish doctors also take care of all clinical issues that still follow and are supposed to keep the medical staff of the “Nerazzuri” up to date. Eriksen collapsed on the lawn on June 12 in Copenhagen during the European Championship group game against Finland and had to be resuscitated. As a result, doctors used a defibrillator for him. This recognizes cardiac arrhythmias and triggers shocks in an emergency.
It is unclear whether Eriksen will be on the field for the champions of the previous Serie A season in the near future. His contract runs until the summer of 2024. Eriksen cannot play with the implanted defibrillator in Italy because there are much stricter rules in this regard than in other European leagues.
