There have been no contacts between the two states for 20 years
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky had a telephone conversation with President of Sierra Leone Julius Maada Bio.
The head of state wrote about this on his page on the social network.
Vladimir Zelensky noted that Ukraine has finally, after a 20-year pause, resumed contact between the two states at the highest level.
“I welcome Sierra Leone with its election to the UN Security Council for 2024-2025 and hope to continue consistent support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. We discussed our Peace Formula, the successful meeting of advisers in Malta and the consolidation of support for our vision of peace among African countries at regional platforms. Told about the #GrainFromUkraine initiative and invited me to the second summit, which will take place within its framework,” said the head of state.
Let us recall that Podolyak named the real goal of Russia, which “wants” negotiations.
