Because of an anesthesia that was too strong, Jean-Pierre Adams fell into a coma in 1982. Now the 22-time team player has died.
In 1982, Jean-Pierre Adams fell into a coma during a routine knee operation. Now the 22-time French soccer team player has died at the age of 73 in the university hospital in Nimes. In the national team, the “Black Rock”, as it was called at the time, together with Marius Tresor, formed a defensive bulwark.
After the end of his career, he underwent the momentous operation in which the treating anesthetist dosed the anesthetic incorrectly, causing Adam's brain damage. The Dakar-born man has been cared for by his wife Bernadette ever since.
