In Afghanistan, at least 12 women have died while intending to obtain visas and travel to Pakistan. Reported by The New York Times.
Up to 10,000 people gathered at a dedicated football stadium in the city of Jalalabad after Pakistan's decision to simplify visa issuance procedures. Most of the audience sought to leave Afghanistan to receive medical services.
The crush began with the issuance of 1,000 tokens that could be obtained to apply for a visa. It is known that at least 12 more people were seriously injured, and the death toll may increase – many have been reported missing.
In August, it was reported that two civilians were killed in a bomb explosion in Afghanistan near Nad-e-Ali. The explosive device went off while a civilian vehicle was driving along the road.
