Later, the singer published an update and announced that she flew to Turkey.

Said was a supporter of the Afghan army and spoke out in support of the government many times before the Taliban seized power in the country. She is married to Hasib Sayed, who is also her producer. The man went with his wife to Istanbul.

The arrival of the Taliban raised concerns for the lives and health of Afghan women after members of the movement promised to introduce strict Sharia law. In particular, the fate of the captured Governor Salima Mazari, one of Afghanistan's most prominent women politicians, is unknown. Mazari's supporters say she could be executed.
