The US House of Representatives approved an interim budget, but without funds to support Ukraine.

The US House of Representatives approved a temporary budget to avoid a “shutdown” (government shutdown), but the billdoes not provide funds to support Ukraine. For Ukraine, such a decision means continuing to work with partners. So far, nothing threatens the supply of weapons and equipment accepted earlier.

Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova wrote about this on Facebook.

“So far, the temporary budget resolution has been adopted for only 45 days. Congress and the Administration ensured that funds from the previous budget for Ukraine assistance programs were transitional. Funds are available. The government will work therefore nothing threatens the supply of weapons and equipment that were accepted earlier. We now have at least an additional $1.6 billion in Defense Assistance (PDA) + $1.23 billion in Direct Budget Assistance available to use (that's the September tranche just transferred to the World Bank accounts), plus significant amounts for energy and other programs.” — she explained.

Oksana Markarova also noted that at the end of these 45 days a new decision will be required.

“Actually there is time, there are resources, and most importantly, there is bipartisan and bicameral support for Ukraine , which makes it possible to work to confirm American assistance to the Ukrainian struggle for freedom and to save people’s lives,” the ambassador emphasized.

Recall that US President JoeBiden said that American support for Ukraine is in no way cannot be interruptedby commenting on the government's temporary funding project.
