On March 21, at an extraordinary meeting of the General Assembly of the European Federation of National Language Institutions (EFNIL), they unanimously decided to grant Ukraine the status of an associated member EFNIL.
This was announced by Taras Kremen, Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language.
According to him, the issue of establishing the Ukrainian language is no less important during the war.
— Membership in EFNIL will give Ukraine the opportunity to form a strategy for the legislative protection of the Ukrainian language as the future language of the EU. In this difficult time for Ukraine, the support of the leading language institutions in Europe, our international partners, is very important for us,” Taras Kremen noted.
Taras Kremen, in his speech at a meeting of the EFNIL General Assembly, said that the Kremlin purposefully is pursuing a policy of genocide of the Ukrainian people – Moscow does not stop at linguocide either.

According to him, the occupiers say that subjects such as the Ukrainian language, Ukrainian literature and the history of Ukraine will no longer be studied.
