Administrators of communities and public pages on the VKontakte social network will be able to receive money for advertising in their videos, the press service of the social network told Secret. At the first stage, communities that participate in the affiliate program will be able to receive income. To join the testing of the function, the authors of videos need to fill out a questionnaire in the new section “VKontakte monetization”.
Communities publishing original videos on VKontakte, as well as participating in an affiliate program, can submit an application, the press service of the company told Sekret. Videos can relate to any topic and genre, but they must not violate the rules of the social network.
The system of recommendations will help administrators of publics and groups make money on advertising in videos, they specified in VKontakte. It offers users videos that best suit their interests.
Other conditions for participation in the program include daily community reach of 10,000 users and uploading videos directly to VKontakte through a native player. The company promised that in six months all interested users will be able to make money on monetization from video ads.
Earlier “Secret” reported that the developers of mini-applications “VKontakte” complained about the new rules of monetization on the platform. From August 2, it is possible to buy virtual content only with “votes”, which increases the social network commission for each payment up to 45%. Those who do not switch to the new model of work are threatened with blocking.
