Actor Hal Holbrook dies in the US

In the United States, at the age of 95, actor Hal Holbrook, Emmy award winner and Oscar nominee, has passed away. This is reported by The New York Times with reference to the assistant artist Joyce Cohen.

According to Holbrooke's assistant, the actor died on January 23 at his home in Beverly Hills (California). The cause of death is not named.

Holbrook has won four television Emmy awards and also received a Tony Theater Award for his role in the one-man show Mark Twain Tonight. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the 2007 film Into the Wild.
