Active hostilities in Ukraine will end in 7-9 weeks – Estonian Defense Ministry

Estonian intelligence said that active hostilities in Ukraine will end in 7- 9 weeks. Then the war will become static.

A representative of the Estonian Ministry of Defense doubts that during this time it will be possible to liberate the entire territory of Ukraine. Like, it will be very difficult to achieve such a great success in such a short time.

This is reported by the Estonian edition of ERR.

“There are 7-9 weeks left until the end of active hostilities, depending on when the weather deteriorates. Then until spring we will deal with the static war that we are now seeing in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” said the head of the intelligence center of the Defense Forces Estonian Margot Grossberg.

He also commented on the counter-offensive of Ukrainian forces in the Kherson region.

“I would not classify this as a massive offensive. But since the beginning of April, Ukraine has been able to make progress in the Kherson region “, Grosberg said.

According to him, the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops to the Dnieper will eliminate the danger that Russian troops will try to advance towards Odessa. However, it will also be difficult for Ukrainian defenders to cross the Dnieper.

Grosberg believes that Ukraine needs a threefold advantage of forces for a successful counteroffensive. Ukraine's successes in the Kherson region and the increasingly intense offensive will reduce the ability of the occupying authorities to hold a “referendum” there.

In addition, Russia is transferring the newly formed units of the third army corps to Ukraine, but it is not yet known where they will be deployed, Grosberg noted. According to the colonel, the nearest target for them may be the Donetsk region, but if Ukraine succeeds in Kherson, they will be transferred there.

Recall that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander on September 2. It's the second one this week. The President noted that certain decisions had also been made.
