She received many injuries.

A woman was killed by a pet rooster in South Australia.

The Mirror reports this.

The incident occurred in 2019. An elderly woman was collecting eggs from a chicken coop in her garden. An “aggressive” domestic rooster pecked her and pierced her varicose veins with his beak.

She suffered numerous other injuries, but the cause of death was bleeding that could not be stopped.

Authorities did not release the woman's name at the time to protect her family from further harm. A public warning has been issued about the dangers of the supposedly harmless animals, News.au.com reports.

Professor Roger Byard said: “Most importantly, I try to help older people treat their varicose veins with simple surgery because they are particularly vulnerable to rupture.” He added: “We've done research showing people were walking around their houses and bleeding after hitting their leg and hitting a vein.”

Speaking about examples of animals causing death, the professor said that “cats are a very common tripping hazard for older people”: “Cats like to rub against bones and legs, and also sit behind people, which often leads to injuries in the elderly of people”.

Let us remind you that South Korea will ban eating dogs . The law to stop the practice will have a three-year grace period, and dog meat will be completely banned from 2027.
