As they say, the woman was born in 1928 in Germany into a Jewish family. Her parents and almost all relatives were killed in concentration camps. They managed to transport the ten-year-old girl to Switzerland, which saved her life. When her mother said goodbye to her at the Frankfurt am Main station, she gave her a washcloth with her maiden initials K. S. (Carola Siegel).
“I never let her out of my hands again and I will take her with me to the grave. This is all I have,” Westheimer admitted in an interview with BILD.
