The land conflict in Dagestan led to the death of a veteran of the so-called "SVO".
In a Dagestan village Agachaul killed a participant in the so-called “special military operation (SVO).” Despite initial claims of a religious motive for the murder, investigations point to a long-standing land conflict as the true cause of the tragedy.
The Russian Telegram channel Baza writes about this.
According to the channel, on July 13, in the village of Agachaul, a massive shootout took place between two groups of relatives who were arguing over a plot of land of 6 acres. As a result of the conflict, 37-year-old Bogigit Alibekov, who had recently returned from the war in Ukraine, was killed, and four other people were wounded.
The history of the conflict dates back to 2015, when the former head of the village illegally removed a one-hectare plot from state ownership. Part of this hectare, measuring 6 acres, became the cause of the conflict between relatives. According to local resident Magomed Alibekov, he received this plot before 2015, but he did not formalize the ownership. The family of local resident Makhmudova, a relative of Alibekov, also laid claim to the same land. Recently, the son of Magomed Alibekov, Bozigit, returned from the war, and they began construction work on the disputed site. Alibekov’s relatives did not like this and the conflict over land reached a new level.
After the incident, the relatives of the deceased distributed a video where they accused “Wahhabis” of murder, who allegedly attacked them because of Bozigit’s participation in the war. However, local residents refute this version, noting that participants in the war are on both sides of the conflict.
For now, the situation in the village remains tense. Police fear further escalation of the conflict, especially in view of the expected arrival of the victim's brother, who is also participating in the war. To prevent possible clashes, three police crews are on duty in the village.
Recall that the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports growing concern in the Kremlin regarding the consequences of the return of Russian veterans from the war to Ukraine. Thus, in Russia, the first deputy head of Putin’s administration, Sergei Kiriyenko, expressed serious concerns about the adaptation of Russian veterans to civilian life after the war in Ukraine.
