German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that his country would not send battle tanks to Ukraine, saying it was a “very dangerous war.”
Recently, Ukraine has made progress in the war with Russia and asked the West for help. But Germany refused to take the lead in providing this assistance.
The New York Times writes about this.
“We support Ukraine. We do it in such a way, not to bring that this will become a war between Russia and NATO, because it would be a disaster,” the German Chancellor said in an interview with the publication.
Recall that the day before, the German parliament could not vote for the decision to transfer tanks and armored vehicles. The document made it possible to immediately send tanks and shells from industrial stocks, and also demanded that additional heavy weapons be delivered to Ukraine.
Military expert Alexander Kovalenko assessed whether Germany should be expected to deliver tanks to Ukraine soon.
